Wattle Grove Speckle Park is gearing up for another huge year of growth if the first month and a half of 2016 are anything to go by.
Since January 1 we have leased over 500 acres of land, taken delivery of 20 weaners from Western Australia and put in another 50 embryos. We have bought home another 25 ET weaners from Orange. Dale has travelled to Perth and New Zealand and somewhere in there we managed to get kids back to school, start a new off-farm job and keep our herd (and kids) fed and watered.
The weaners we have bought home are an absolute testament to our breeding program in Canada. Consistently showing all the best qualities of the Speckle Park breed, it is exciting and rewarding to see the hard work paying off. We can’t wait to show them off over the next 12 months.
Looking ahead for the year Dale will again be travelling the world to promote Wattle Grove Speckle Park and the Speckle Park breed. He will be in Auckland, New Zealand for the Northland Field Days in early March. Sydney Royal is always our largest show of the year and with a full row of cattle it will be another great year. The beef cattle are onsite from 15th-23rd March. From Sydney we head to Canada for the Speckle Park sale season in April, three great sales and our opportunity to access new, elite and exclusive genetics.
May through to August will see us showing at the Ekka, exhibiting at Agquip, calving and starting our ET programs in WA and NSW.
September we start working on our Sale, which this year is booked in for Saturday 15th October with a VIP viewing and dinner on Friday 14th. Registrations are required please email us for more details. Over 30 lots will be available for purchase via auction and auctionsplus on the day. The sale will be held on-farm in Oberon, NSW.
